I spotted this lovely courtyard in Seville whilst walking through the city during a visit a couple of year’s ago.
As the heaven’s opened one day in the Scottish Borders I looked back over sketches and photos for memories of sunshine and warmth - this image took me back to a place where the light is radiant, the colour is vibrant and I could smell the orange blossom in the air. I had to paint it.
Pen and Indian ink on 300gsm watercolour paper
21×29.5cm // 20×40cm with antique white mount
